After wet felting her very first pieces, Jan Osher’s imagination and creative excitement is re-ignited.Jan recently moved from Florida back to her home state of Oregon. In anticipation of long, cold winters, she picked up crocheting again after 30 years. At first she crocheted wool yarn into slippers and “fulled” them in the washing machine, but then she tried wet felting…
“… this is the first time I used wool roving to create my own fabric. I’M HOOKED!! It was so fun to discover what the roving would do on a variety of fabrics and my imagination is now going wild!“
“I came across a video of hand wet-felted slippers from wool roving and never looked back. I’ve been a seamstress and painter (with a sculpture here and there) for years and creating garments from raw fibers seems like a natural combination of all three. I just can’t wait to get up each morning and get into my studio and work on my latest wool “painting”….(although, these garments start out so large that I have to make them on my husband’s work table in his woodshop!). Experimenting with different fabrics in nuno-felting has been very rewarding.”
“Thank you, so much, for all the info and tips on your website. And, also, for your fast service! You’ve got a lifelong customer now!”
Sincerely, Jan Osher
Jan feels fortunate that her daughter recently opened a shop in Bend, Oregon where she can sell her wonderful felt creations
